Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, identifying their needs and offering suitable product solutions.
- Provide expert knowledge on a wide range of products, including features, benefits, and proper usage.
- Assist customers with product selection, demonstrating items and answering questions thoroughly.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems, handling cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and well-stocked sales floor, ensuring products are properly displayed and priced.
- Actively promote store programs, loyalty cards, and special promotions to enhance customer value.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints with patience and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales goals and maintain store operational standards.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and merchandising guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for POS operations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in retail sales or a customer-facing role.
- Knowledge of Canadian Tire's product categories (e.g., automotive, hardware, home goods).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 25 lbs regularly.
