Job Description
We are urgently seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Retail Merchandiser to join our London-based team, operating primarily from our Hoxton hub. This is a critical role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and possesses a keen eye for detail and strong analytical capabilities. As a Retail Merchandiser, you will be instrumental in optimising product availability, driving sales, and maximising profitability across our retail channels. You will manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to customer, ensuring our collections are strategically allocated to stores, visually impactful, and aligned with market demand.

You will be responsible for interpreting sales trends, managing inventory, forecasting future performance, and collaborating closely with our Buying, Visual Merchandising, and Retail Operations teams. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of sales performance, stock levels, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Develop and implement robust merchandise plans, ensuring optimal stock allocation to stores based on sales potential and regional specifics.
- Forecast future sales and inventory requirements, collaborating with the Buying team on future season orders.
- Manage the product lifecycle, from initial allocation to end-of-season markdown strategies, to maximise sell-through and profitability.
- Monitor competitor activity and market shifts, providing actionable insights to inform merchandising decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Visual Merchandising to ensure products are presented effectively and align with brand guidelines.
- Work with Retail Operations to understand store needs and challenges, ensuring smooth product flow and efficient stock management.
- Generate comprehensive reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management.
- Identify slow-moving stock and propose strategies for liquidation or reallocation.
- Participate in range reviews and assortment planning meetings, providing commercial input.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Retail Merchandising role, preferably within fashion or a similar fast-paced retail sector.
- Exceptional analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros).
- Strong commercial awareness and a deep understanding of retail KPIs and merchandising principles.
- Proven ability to manage large datasets and translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Highly organised with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solver with a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with merchandising planning and allocation software.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP/merchandising systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current fashion trends and the competitive retail landscape.
- Experience in an international retail environment.
