In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately scanning products, processing various payment types (cash, credit, debit, gift cards), and providing exceptional customer service. Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area is also part of your daily routine, contributing to an inviting store atmosphere. Beyond the register, you will support store operations by assisting with bagging groceries, returning misplaced items, and helping to maintain overall store cleanliness and presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently scan groceries and process all forms of payment, including cash, credit/debit cards, and gift cards.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product location or other needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area and ensure merchandise is properly displayed.
- Handle cash responsibly, reconcile tills, and follow all cash handling procedures.
- Assist customers with bagging groceries quickly and carefully, ensuring items are protected.
- Promote store specials, loyalty programs, and other initiatives to enhance customer experience.
- Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to management as needed, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to age-restricted sales.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support store objectives and customer satisfaction.
