Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly upon their arrival, escorting them to their tables and presenting menus.
  • Answer questions about menu items, specials, and ingredients, making thoughtful recommendations when appropriate.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders using our Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring all details are correctly captured.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally to guests, ensuring dishes are presented attractively and correctly.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and courteously to all requests, proactively addressing any concerns.
  • Clear tables efficiently between courses and after meals, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  • Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and manage end-of-shift reconciliation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation and assist with general restaurant cleanliness.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bar staff, and other team members to ensure smooth and coordinated service.
  • Address guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations and restaurant operational standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining area, as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) as a waiter/server in a full-service restaurant or similar hospitality setting
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems commonly used in restaurants
  • Knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and beverages is a significant advantage
  • Ability to speak additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) is a plus
  • Relevant hospitality certification or training (e.g., customer service, food safety)
