Key Responsibilities
- Process guest orders and payments accurately and efficiently using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment, ensuring all transactions are balanced at the end of the shift.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting guests warmly and assisting with any inquiries or special requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked cashier station and dining area.
- Answer phones and assist with reservation inquiries or to-go orders.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth order flow and guest satisfaction.
- Resolve guest concerns or complaints related to billing or service in a professional and timely manner.
- Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures, including security measures.
- Assist with other dining room duties as needed, supporting the overall team.
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a cashier or customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Proficiency in operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Excellent cash handling and basic mathematical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with OnQ or other Hilton-specific POS systems.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus and offerings.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, French).
