Job Description

The College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our dynamic academic team for an exciting project based in Nonsuch, Port Antonio. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and manage research data using appropriate software and databases, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis, including statistical analysis where applicable, and generate descriptive summaries.
  • Prepare drafts of research reports, presentations, and publications under the guidance of project leads.
  • Maintain detailed records of research activities, data collection instruments, and project progress.
  • Coordinate logistics for fieldwork, workshops, and meetings related to the research project.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and research protocols throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Agriculture, Environmental Science, Education, Social Sciences, Biology).
  • Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of experience in academic or professional research.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including academic writing.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data management software.

Preferred Qualifications
