Key Responsibilities
- Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound patient calls, providing a positive and professional first impression.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments efficiently using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and demographic information accurately, ensuring all data is up-to-date.
- Provide comprehensive information regarding UCHealth services, clinic locations, and general patient inquiries.
- Direct calls to appropriate departments or personnel, ensuring prompt resolution and seamless patient hand-offs.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and UCHealth policies.
- Assist patients with pre-registration processes and provide necessary instructions for upcoming appointments.
- Document all patient interactions and communications thoroughly and accurately in the EHR system.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical staff, nurses, and other administrative teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Proactively resolve patient concerns or escalate complex issues to appropriate channels when necessary.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, administrative support, or a call center environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with general computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs and situations.
- High-speed, reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home workspace conducive to remote work.
