Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently transcribe dictated medical reports from physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology are meticulously used in all transcribed documents.
  • Review and edit documents for clarity, completeness, and accuracy, correcting any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Manage and prioritize workload effectively to meet established turnaround times and deadlines.
  • Utilize medical transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies, errors, or missing information in dictations for clarification by the dictating physician.
  • Continuously update knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and pharmaceutical terms.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and consistently adhere to performance standards.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills, with the ability to discern various accents and dictation styles.
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 words per minute).
  • Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
