Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
  • Administer medications accurately and safely, adhering to Trust policies and NMC guidelines.
  • Perform clinical procedures competently, including wound care, vital sign monitoring, and venepuncture.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families regarding their care and condition.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring dignity, respect, and patient rights are upheld.
  • Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and team meetings, contributing to care planning and decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, student nurses, and healthcare assistants.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or eligibility to apply.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
