Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Monitor vital signs, document patient condition, and report changes to the medical team.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including patient safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Required Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • One (1) year of experience in an acute care setting.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience with Med/Surg patient populations.
