Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Monitor vital signs, document patient condition, and report changes to the medical team.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHRs).
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including patient safety protocols.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One (1) year of experience in an acute care setting.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with Med/Surg patient populations.
