Job Description

Schneider National is actively seeking experienced and safety-conscious CDL A Drivers to join our Regional fleet operating out of our Tampa, Florida terminal. This is an exciting opportunity for professional drivers who desire consistent work, excellent pay, and the comfort of being home weekly. As a Regional CDL A Driver, you will primarily be responsible for transporting freight across the southeastern United States, with frequent routes extending into key hubs such as Charlotte, North Carolina, and other major cities within our network. You will be an integral part of ensuring timely and secure delivery of goods, representing Schneider National with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV) safely and efficiently, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Transport freight primarily within the southeastern United States, including routes to and from Charlotte, NC.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor-trailer units and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and other necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding load status, delays, and issues.
  • Secure freight properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods, striving for on-time performance.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Represent Schneider National professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
  • Minimum of 6 months recent verifiable Class A driving experience
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (DOT Medical Exam)
  • Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including climbing, lifting, and prolonged sitting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and in-cab technology
  • Forklift certification or experience with other material handling equipment
  • High School Diploma or GED
