Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide accounting support.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required by management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a financial institution
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Experience with large-scale accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
