Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Radiographer to join our dynamic Medical/Imaging team at our D-Line, Port Harcourt facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various imaging equipment, including X-ray, Ultrasound, and potentially CT or MRI machines, to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This pivotal role requires a professional dedicated to upholding the highest standards of patient safety, accuracy, and comfort, ensuring all procedures are performed in strict accordance with established protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain X-ray, Ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging equipment with precision and safety, ensuring optimal performance.
- Position patients correctly for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and obtaining optimal image quality for diagnostic purposes.
- Explain complex imaging procedures to patients in clear, understandable terms, addressing their concerns and ensuring their informed cooperation.
- Ensure comprehensive patient safety by strictly adhering to radiation protection protocols and maintaining ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
- Review and meticulously evaluate diagnostic images for technical quality, accuracy, and completeness, making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and image archives, ensuring proper documentation and data integrity.
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with radiologists, referring physicians, and other medical staff to facilitate accurate and timely diagnoses.
- Perform routine equipment checks, calibration, and minor troubleshooting, reporting any significant malfunctions promptly to the appropriate department.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Participate actively in continuous professional development and training initiatives to stay abreast of the latest advancements in radiography.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and ensuring an efficient operation within the imaging department.

- Post-basic specialization or certification in a specific imaging modality.
- Current membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria).
- Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment.
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a clinical setting.
