Key Responsibilities
- Host live radio shows with energy, charisma, and a deep understanding of the target audience.
- Develop and prepare engaging show content, including topics, interviews, music selection, and interactive segments.
- Conduct compelling live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, celebrities, and local figures.
- Interact with listeners through phone calls, social media, and on-air mentions.
- Maintain a strong local focus, integrating Sheffield news, events, and community stories into broadcasts.
- Operate broadcast equipment efficiently and troubleshoot minor technical issues during live shows.
- Adhere to all broadcast regulations, editorial guidelines, and station policies.
- Collaborate with producers, news teams, and other presenters to ensure cohesive programming.
- Actively participate in station promotions, events, and external appearances.
- Engage with the station's social media channels to promote shows and connect with listeners off-air.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a radio presenter or live host.
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to ad-lib, improvise, and maintain composure in a live broadcast environment.
- Strong understanding of the Sheffield and South Yorkshire demographic and local culture.
- Excellent timing, pacing, and vocal delivery.
