Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine analytical, microbiological, and sensory tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished products according to established protocols.
- Monitor production processes to ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations.
- Perform calibration, verification, and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Document and maintain accurate, detailed records of all quality control tests, observations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Investigate and report non-conformances, out-of-spec conditions, and deviations, initiating appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate effectively with production, maintenance, and supply chain teams to address quality issues proactively and implement continuous improvements.
- Assist in the development and revision of quality control procedures, work instructions, and product specifications.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality parameters, food safety protocols, and best practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., SQF, ISO) to ensure ongoing compliance with quality management systems.
- Monitor environmental conditions and perform swabbing to ensure sanitary operating conditions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or a closely related scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role within the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency with laboratory testing equipment and techniques (e.g., pH meters, refractometers, titrators, spectrophotometers).
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP principles, and current food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and meticulous record-keeping skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical information.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or other LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software.
- Certifications in HACCP, PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual), or other relevant food safety programs.
- Familiarity with sensory evaluation techniques for carbonated and non-carbonated beverages.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume bottling or beverage manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) methods.
