Job Description
Arup is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Finance Officer to join our dynamic team in Warsaw, Poland, for an immediate start. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial success of complex and transformative infrastructure and building projects across various sectors. As a Project Finance Officer, you will be instrumental in the financial planning, analysis, and execution phases, ensuring robust financial structures that support our projects from inception through to delivery. You will work closely with project managers, technical specialists, clients, and external financial institutions to develop, evaluate, and manage financial models, forecasts, and strategies.
Your day-to-day will involve a blend of intricate financial analysis, strategic financial advisory, and diligent reporting. You will be responsible for creating detailed financial models, performing sensitivity analysis, and assessing investment opportunities and risks associated with large-scale projects. This role demands a keen understanding of project finance principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders. You will contribute to securing funding, optimizing capital structures, and monitoring project financial performance, ensuring alignment with both Arup’s objectives and client needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex financial models for various project types, including sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Conduct thorough financial due diligence on potential projects and investment opportunities.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, presentations, and summaries for internal stakeholders, clients, and lenders.
- Assist in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of project financing deals, including debt and equity arrangements.
- Monitor project financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and contractual obligations.
- Identify and assess financial risks associated with projects and propose mitigation strategies.
- Liaise effectively with internal project teams, external financial institutions, legal advisors, and clients.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project finance processes and tools.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and accounting standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking.
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Solid understanding of project finance principles, financial instruments, and capital markets.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly and concisely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, in English and Polish.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or relevant ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CFA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience within an engineering, construction, or consulting environment.
- Knowledge of Polish financial markets and regulatory landscape.
- Familiarity with public-private partnership (PPP) structures.
