Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport passengers to their desired destinations, meticulously adhering to scheduled pickups and drop-offs.
  • Operate company vehicles in full compliance with all Jamaican road traffic laws, government regulations, and established company policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional, courteous customer service, proactively assisting passengers with luggage, offering insightful local knowledge, and ensuring a comfortable and memorable journey.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and professional presentation of the assigned vehicle, performing thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Accurately record all essential trip details, mileage, and passenger information as precisely required by company protocol.
  • Handle payments, accurately process receipts, and manage daily cash transactions with honesty and responsibility.
  • Respond professionally, calmly, and effectively to unforeseen circumstances, such as traffic delays, road closures, or minor vehicle issues.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with dispatch personnel, management, and passengers regarding any schedule changes, delays, or emergency situations.
  • Ensure the paramount safety and comfort of all passengers, including strict adherence to seatbelt regulations and other safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Valid Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) driver's license (General or Route Taxi endorsement).
  • Minimum of 1 year of verifiable professional driving experience in a commercial or public transport setting.
  • Excellent, in-depth knowledge of Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and surrounding parishes, including major landmarks, popular destinations, and optimal routes.
  • Strong verbal communication and advanced interpersonal skills with a genuinely customer-centric approach.
  • Impeccable driving record with no major accidents or significant traffic violations.
  • Proficient ability to operate GPS and various navigation systems effectively.
  • High level of punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and rudimentary troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Defensive driving certification or equivalent advanced driver training.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
