Key Responsibilities
- Feed and water poultry according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Monitor the health and behavior of birds daily, identifying and reporting any signs of illness or injury to supervisors.
- Clean and disinfect poultry houses, equipment, and surrounding areas to maintain optimal hygiene standards.
- Collect eggs regularly, ensuring proper handling, sorting, and storage to prevent damage.
- Assist with the vaccination and treatment of birds under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of feed consumption, egg production, mortality rates, and other relevant farm data.
- Ensure proper ventilation and temperature control within poultry houses.
- Participate in the movement and handling of poultry as required.
- Adhere strictly to all biosecurity protocols and safety guidelines.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or facility issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 25kg.
- Attention to detail and keen observation skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic literacy (ability to read and write simple reports).
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to work in a farm environment, which may involve exposure to dust, odors, and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience working with animals, even informally (e.g., home farming).
