Job Description
We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated POP Ceiling Installer with expertise in gypsum finishing and general construction practices to join our dynamic team in Calabar. As a key member of our interior finishing crew, you will be responsible for the precise measurement, cutting, fitting, and installation of various POP ceiling designs, ensuring a flawless finish that meets both client specifications and industry standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of plasterwork techniques, and the ability to work efficiently and safely on diverse construction sites. You will interpret blueprints and design specifications, prepare surfaces, apply plaster and gypsum boards, and achieve smooth, aesthetic finishes. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and cut POP (Plaster of Paris) materials, gypsum boards, and related components according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Prepare ceilings and wall surfaces for POP installation, ensuring they are clean, level, and ready for application.
- Install various POP ceiling designs, including cornices, mouldings, and decorative elements, ensuring precise alignment and secure fitting.
- Perform gypsum finishing, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to achieve smooth and seamless surfaces.
- Mix and apply plaster materials correctly, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring all installations are aesthetically pleasing, durable, and meet project standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, painters, and electricians.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues that may arise on-site.
- Provide regular updates on project progress to the site supervisor.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in POP ceiling installation and gypsum finishing.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing plasterboards and related materials.
- Strong understanding of various plastering techniques and finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
