Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot plumbing issues in residential and commercial settings.
  • Execute repairs, installations, and maintenance of plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Install and repair water heaters, boilers, pipes, drainage systems, and other related components.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and provide accurate estimates for required work.
  • Ensure all work adheres to current plumbing codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, explaining issues and solutions in an understandable manner.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of parts and tools within the service van.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as required, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Plumbing Technician, ideally with domestic and light commercial exposure.
  • Full UK driving license with a clean record.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with various plumbing tools and equipment.
  • A proactive attitude and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gas Safe registration (if boiler work is to be undertaken).
  • Experience with renewable energy systems (e.g., heat pumps).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Previous experience working for a local service company in Swindon.
