Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and dedicated Plumbing Foreman to join our dynamic team at N.J.B Building Contractors. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of plumbers and apprentices on various construction sites.
  • Plan, organise, and oversee all plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate and compliant installations.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and manage project schedules to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Ensure all plumbing work adheres to relevant building codes, safety regulations (e.g., Gas Safe, Water Regulations), and company quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, other foremen, and trade professionals to integrate plumbing work seamlessly into overall project plans.
  • Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment efficiently to minimise waste and ensure availability.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the team as needed.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all team members follow health and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and team hours.
  • Troubleshoot complex plumbing problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Train junior plumbers and apprentices, fostering their skill development and adherence to best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a qualified Plumber, with a significant portion in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, including domestic, commercial, and industrial installations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of UK building codes, health and safety regulations, and plumbing standards.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise work effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gas Safe registration (if applicable to previous experience).
  • Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) certification.
  • CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience with various pipe materials and installation techniques (e.g., copper, plastic, stainless steel).
