Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of plumbers and apprentices on various construction sites.
- Plan, organise, and oversee all plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate and compliant installations.
- Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and manage project schedules to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
- Ensure all plumbing work adheres to relevant building codes, safety regulations (e.g., Gas Safe, Water Regulations), and company quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project managers, other foremen, and trade professionals to integrate plumbing work seamlessly into overall project plans.
- Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment efficiently to minimise waste and ensure availability.
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the team as needed.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all team members follow health and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and team hours.
- Troubleshoot complex plumbing problems and implement effective solutions.
- Train junior plumbers and apprentices, fostering their skill development and adherence to best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Plumber, with a significant portion in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, including domestic, commercial, and industrial installations.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of UK building codes, health and safety regulations, and plumbing standards.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise work effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Problem-solving aptitude and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas Safe registration (if applicable to previous experience).
- Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) certification.
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with various pipe materials and installation techniques (e.g., copper, plastic, stainless steel).
