Sogea-Satom, a leading construction and public works company with a strong presence across Africa, is seeking an experienced Plumber specializing in Pipe Repair to join our dynamic team in Gemena, Sud-Ubangi Province, DRC. In this crucial on-site role, you will be primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various piping systems for water supply, drainage, and sanitation within our diverse range of construction projects and existing facilities. Your expertise will be vital in accurately diagnosing complex plumbing issues, performing timely and effective repairs, and ensuring all plumbing work adheres strictly to the highest standards of safety, quality, and relevant local and international regulations. You will work on a variety of projects, which may include residential and commercial buildings, public infrastructure, and utility networks, often in challenging and dynamic environments. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain water supply systems, drainage systems, and sewage lines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing problems, including leaks, blockages, and system malfunctions.
- Perform pipe cutting, bending, threading, and joining using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Inspect and test plumbing systems for leaks and other defects to ensure proper functionality.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems.
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Select and use appropriate plumbing materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior plumbers or assistants, if applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and issues encountered.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plumber, with a focus on pipe repair.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in various pipe materials (PVC, copper, PEX, galvanized) and joining techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for handling tools and materials.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in Plumbing.
