Job Description
Are you a skilled Plumber with a passion for precision and a commitment to quality workmanship? Deedee Construction Company Limited is seeking an experienced and dedicated Plumber to join our dynamic team in Uyo. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply systems, drainage, and other plumbing fixtures across our diverse range of construction projects. This includes working on new builds, renovations, and infrastructure development. You will utilize your expertise in pipe fitting, leak detection, fixture installation, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure all plumbing systems meet the highest standards of functionality, efficiency, and compliance with local building codes.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various plumbing materials and techniques, including PVC, copper, and galvanized pipes. You will be adept at reading blueprints, interpreting technical specifications, and executing tasks with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with other tradespersons on site. Your daily tasks will involve troubleshooting complex plumbing issues, performing routine inspections, and implementing preventative maintenance measures to extend the lifespan of our installations. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems, including water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and drainage.
- Perform pipe fitting, cutting, threading, and joining using appropriate tools and techniques (e.g., soldering, welding, cementing).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems and specifications.
- Inspect and test plumbing systems for leaks, blockages, and other issues, identifying and resolving problems efficiently.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and dishwashers.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including electricians, carpenters, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide accurate estimates for materials and labor required for plumbing tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance on existing plumbing infrastructure to prevent potential failures.
- Document work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in plumbing, pipe fitting, and repair.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Expertise in various piping materials (PVC, copper, PEX, galvanized) and joining methods.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for plumbing issues.
