Job Description
Julius Berger Nigeria Plc is actively seeking a highly skilled, meticulous, and dedicated Plasterer to join our dynamic construction team on an exciting project in Calabar. As a Plasterer, you will play an absolutely critical role in achieving the superior quality finishes that Julius Berger projects are renowned for. Your expertise in various plastering techniques, including the precise application of wall smoothing compounds, internal and external rendering, and meticulous finishing, will directly contribute to the aesthetic appeal, structural integrity, and long-term durability of our buildings. This demanding position requires an exceptionally keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and a comprehensive understanding of different plastering materials, their properties, and best application practices. You will be responsible for thorough surface preparation, accurate measurement and mixing of plaster and rendering materials, applying scratch coats, float coats, and ensuring all finish coats are perfectly smooth, level, and consistent. All work must meticulously adhere to our stringent quality standards, architectural drawings, and project specifications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both traditional plastering methods and modern rendering techniques, capable of working efficiently and safely within a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, scraping, and applying appropriate bonding agents.
- Measure, mix, and apply different types of plaster and rendering materials accurately to walls and ceilings.
- Apply scratch coats, float coats, and finish coats, ensuring smooth, level, and aesthetically pleasing surfaces.
- Repair existing plasterwork, addressing cracks, holes, and other imperfections.
- Utilize various plastering tools and equipment, including trowels, floats, screeds, and spray machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plastering requirements.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction team members to ensure project timelines are met.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in various plastering techniques and finishes.
- Thorough knowledge of plastering materials, including gypsum, cement, lime, and synthetic renders.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to plastering.
- Strong understanding of surface preparation methods.

- Possession of a recognized Trade Test Certificate in Plastering or Masonry.
