Job Description
G&G Mechanical Services Ltd is urgently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Pipefitter to join our dynamic team for immediate deployment in Swansea, Wales. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed technical drawings to determine pipe layouts, dimensions, and specifications.
- Install, assemble, maintain, and repair both high-pressure and low-pressure pipe systems and pipe supports for commercial and industrial applications.
- Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes according to project specifications, using various tools and equipment.
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines for leaks, blockages, and compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices on every job site.
- Troubleshoot pipe system issues and perform corrective actions efficiently.
- Select and specify proper pipe sizes, types of materials, and related equipment, such as valves and hangers.
- Perform preventative maintenance on existing pipe systems to ensure longevity and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter in a commercial or industrial setting.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Pipefitting, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Proficiency in various pipe joining techniques, including welding (TIG, MIG, ARC), brazing, soldering, and threading.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to pipefitting and construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
- Full UK Driving License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced welding certifications (e.g., Coded Welder).
- Experience with HVAC system pipework installation.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience operating various heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, boom lifts) with relevant certification.
