Job Description
Mount Salem Medical Centre is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Full-Time Physiotherapist to join our growing healthcare team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a pivotal role in enhancing the physical well-being and recovery of our patients within the vibrant community of Mount Salem, Montego Bay. As a Physiotherapist specializing in rehabilitation and therapy, you will be instrumental in helping individuals regain function, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life following injury, illness, or disability.
Your primary focus will involve conducting thorough assessments of patients’ physical conditions, developing personalized and evidence-based treatment plans, and implementing a wide range of therapeutic interventions. You will work with diverse patient demographics, including those recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional assessments to diagnose conditions and determine treatment needs.
- Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment programs based on clinical findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practice.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, and patient education.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment plan, self-management strategies, and injury prevention.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment findings, treatment progress, and discharge summaries, in accordance with clinic policies and professional standards.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Adhere to all professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements set forth by relevant professional bodies in Jamaica.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest advancements in physiotherapy.
