Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examination, and functional assessments, to determine diagnosis and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Develop, implement, and modify evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy goals, home exercise programs, and adaptive equipment usage to promote long-term recovery and independence.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to all regulatory and departmental standards.
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and support staff as required, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with established protocols.
- Participate in continuing education, professional development activities, and in-service training to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
- Adhere to all Banner Health policies, procedures, and safety standards, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the State of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in an acute care, outpatient, or rehabilitation setting
- Specialized certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS))
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Cerner
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages
- Experience supervising PTAs or students
