Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed medical history review, thorough physical assessment, and specialized functional testing, to accurately diagnose conditions and develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans.
  • Implement a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including advanced therapeutic exercises, skilled manual therapy techniques, various modalities, neuromuscular re-education, and comprehensive gait training.
  • Continuously monitor patient progress, meticulously document all aspects of care, and adapt treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and patient safety.
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
  • Provide clear, concise, and empathetic education to patients and their families on proper techniques, home exercise programs, injury prevention strategies, and long-term health maintenance.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, inservice training sessions, and pursue continuous professional development activities to maintain licensure, enhance clinical skills, and stay abreast of best practices.
  • Adhere strictly to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including those pertaining to patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Supervise physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation aides, providing guidance and mentorship as appropriate, to ensure consistent and high-quality patient care delivery.

Required Skills

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • Demonstrated strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and modifying evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced, and patient-focused healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, and continuous quality improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or complex outpatient setting.
  • Prior experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Cerner or Epic.
  • Specialty certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS), Neurologic Certified Specialist (NCS), Sports Certified Specialist (SCS)) or advanced training in specific areas of physical therapy.
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages to better serve our diverse patient community.
