Job Description
Main Event Entertainment Group Ltd. is seeking a talented and passionate Photographer to join our dynamic team, specializing in both studio and live event photography. This is a unique opportunity for a creative individual to play a crucial role in capturing the essence of our diverse range of projects, from meticulously styled studio shoots for marketing and branding materials to the high-energy, spontaneous moments of live events.
As our Photographer, you will be responsible for translating our clients’ visions and the vibrant atmosphere of our events into compelling visual narratives. You will work across various settings, requiring adaptability, technical mastery, and an artistic eye. In the studio, you will set up and execute controlled shoots, ensuring perfect lighting, composition, and product/subject presentation. For events, you will navigate dynamic environments, anticipate key moments, and document the flow, emotions, and critical details that tell the story of each occasion.
Beyond just taking pictures, this role demands a strong understanding of post-production workflows, including editing, retouching, and organizing digital assets to meet brand guidelines and deadlines. You will collaborate closely with our marketing, creative, and event planning teams, contributing your expertise to brainstorming sessions and execution strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, set up, and execute professional photography shoots in a studio environment for various marketing and branding needs (e.g., product shots, corporate portraits, conceptual imagery).
- Cover live events, including concerts, conferences, corporate functions, and private celebrations, capturing candid moments, key speakers, performances, and overall atmosphere.
- Operate and maintain professional camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and other photography accessories.
- Perform extensive post-production work, including culling, editing, color correction, retouching, and file management using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements, creative briefs, and desired outcomes.
- Ensure all photographic outputs align with brand guidelines, artistic direction, and client expectations.
- Manage and organize digital assets efficiently, ensuring proper archiving and accessibility.
- Travel to various event locations within Kingston and potentially across Jamaica.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and equipment advancements.
- Provide creative input and suggestions to enhance visual storytelling and production quality.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional photography experience (studio and events)
- Proficiency with professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment
- Expertise in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for post-production and retouching
- Strong portfolio demonstrating diverse photography styles (studio, candid, event, portraiture)
- Excellent understanding of lighting techniques, composition, and color theory
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree/diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field
- Experience with videography and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro)
- Familiarity with drone photography/videography
- Experience working within an events or media production company
- Knowledge of digital asset management systems
