Job Description
Are you a reliable, customer-focused individual with a clean driving record and a passion for helping others? CVS Health is looking for dedicated Pharmacy Delivery Drivers to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this vital role, you will be the face of CVS Health, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely delivery of prescriptions and essential healthcare items directly to our patients’ homes and care facilities. This position requires the use of your own reliable vehicle, for which you will be reimbursed for mileage. You will play a crucial part in our commitment to improving access to healthcare, especially for those with mobility challenges or limited access to transportation. Beyond just driving, you’ll be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling sensitive patient information with discretion, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver prescription medications and other pharmacy products to patients' homes and designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate delivery of prescribed medications, including obtaining signatures as required.
- Handle and transport sensitive patient information and controlled substances with the utmost confidentiality and security.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with pharmacy staff and patients, providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a detailed log of deliveries, including mileage, delivery times, and any issues encountered.
- Process payments if necessary, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of funds.
- Report any delivery issues, vehicle concerns, or patient feedback promptly to the pharmacy manager.
- Ensure the security and proper storage of all medications during transit.
- Perform routine vehicle checks to ensure safe operation and cleanliness of your personal vehicle.
- Represent CVS Health with professionalism and a positive demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years)
- Proof of personal vehicle insurance with adequate coverage
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle suitable for deliveries
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation and smartphone applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and responsibly
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery, courier, or customer service roles
- Familiarity with the Wilmington, Delaware area and surrounding routes
- Experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting
- Basic knowledge of medical privacy regulations (HIPAA)
