Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our dedicated team at our Kirkhill, Aberdeen branch. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions and provide expert advice on medication use, potential side effects, and adherence.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and provide advanced clinical services such as flu vaccinations, travel health advice, and minor ailment schemes.
  • Lead and manage pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all GPhC standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Oversee the management of pharmacy stock, ensuring efficient ordering, storage, and inventory control.
  • Foster strong relationships with local healthcare professionals, including GPs and nurses, to facilitate integrated patient care.
  • Mentor and support junior pharmacy team members, including dispensers and pharmacy technicians, promoting a culture of learning and development.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance patient services and improve pharmacy efficiency and profitability.
  • Handle patient queries and complaints professionally, resolving issues and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data confidentiality in line with GDPR regulations.

Required Skills

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in a community pharmacy setting
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical care principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven leadership potential and ability to motivate a team
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and general IT skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification
  • Experience in delivering advanced clinical services (e.g., NMS, hypertension testing, travel clinics)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a pharmacy
  • Evidence of continuous professional development aligned with current pharmacy practice
