Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, adhering to all professional standards and legal requirements.
- Provide comprehensive drug information and counseling to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and storage.
- Monitor patient drug therapies for contraindications, drug interactions, and appropriate dosages.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory of pharmaceutical products, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Conduct health screenings, offer preventative health advice, and promote various wellness programs.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve medication-related issues or concerns professionally and empathetically.
- Maintain meticulous patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data privacy at all times.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in Nigeria, registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC experience in a community or retail pharmacy setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge, including pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- A compassionate and patient-focused approach to healthcare delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HealthPlus Pharmacy systems or similar large retail pharmacy chains.
- Advanced certifications in specific therapeutic areas (e.g., diabetes care, immunization, medication therapy management).
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a pharmacy setting.
- Multilingual ability (e.g., Ibibio, Efik) to better serve the local community.
- Familiarity with inventory optimization strategies and supply chain management in a pharmacy context.
