Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Pharmacist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and provide comprehensive patient counseling on proper usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Conduct medication reviews, provide immunizations, and offer chronic disease management support to patients.
- Maintain precise and thorough patient records and ensure strict adherence to all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacy technicians, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to optimize workflow and patient care.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and secure storage of medications.
- Educate patients on over-the-counter products, health and wellness services, and preventative care.
- Resolve patient concerns and questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with pharmacy practices and new medications.
- Support the development and implementation of new pharmacy programs and services.
Required Skills
- Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Pharm)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical knowledge and judgment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and general computer skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting (1-3 years)
- Certification in injection administration
- Additional certifications in specialized areas (e.g., CDE, BCGP)
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
