Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality control inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Health Canada, FDA, ISO).
- Document and report quality issues, deviations, and non-conformances, initiating corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform root cause analysis for quality problems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality assurance activities, including inspection results, test data, and audit findings.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in internal and external quality audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve process capability and product quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes and reduce waste.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related scientific field.
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a manufacturing environment, preferably in consumer goods (FMCG).
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, GMP).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, Pareto charts).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French (bilingualism preferred).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor).
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification).
- Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and equipment.
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
