Tesco is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Personal Shoppers & Delivery Drivers to join our bustling team in Poole, England. As a Personal Shopper, you’ll be the eyes and hands for our customers, ensuring their online orders are picked with precision and care. You’ll navigate the aisles, selecting the freshest produce, the finest meats, and all the essential items our customers need, always keeping an eye on quality, expiry dates, and specific customer requests. Accuracy and efficiency are key in this part of the role, ensuring every customer receives exactly what they’ve ordered, packed thoughtfully and ready for transit. You’ll use our in-store picking technology to locate items efficiently and correctly, ensuring substitutions are made judiciously and with customer preference in mind. Maintaining a clean and organised shopping environment will also be part of your routine, contributing to a seamless customer experience.
Once the orders are prepared, you’ll transition into your role as a Delivery Driver. Hopping into one of our modern, refrigerated vans, you’ll embark on pre-planned routes across Poole and the surrounding areas. This isn’t just about dropping off bags; it’s about being the friendly face of Tesco, providing excellent customer service at every doorstep. You’ll handle deliveries with a smile, assist customers with their shopping if needed, and ensure a seamless, professional experience from store to door. You will be responsible for safe driving practices, adherence to delivery schedules, and maintaining the cleanliness of your vehicle. You’ll manage delivery paperwork, handle cash or card payments where necessary, and resolve any minor delivery issues with professionalism and a customer-first attitude. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack online grocery orders with attention to detail, quality, and freshness.
- Operate in-store picking technology efficiently to locate items and manage order lists.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of orders to customer homes within designated routes.
- Provide exceptional customer service at the point of delivery, acting as a friendly face of Tesco.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles carefully, ensuring items are secured and temperature-controlled.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company driving policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance checks of the delivery vehicle.
- Handle customer queries or delivery issues professionally and effectively.
- Process payments and manage delivery documentation as required.
Required Skills
- Full UK Driving License with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (e.g., shopping bags, cases of drinks).
