Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment and machinery, including fillers, cappers, labelers, and palletizers, to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs on packaging equipment to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
- Conduct quality checks on packaged products, verifying weights, seals, labels, and overall package integrity in accordance with PepsiCo's stringent quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical or operational issues that arise during the packaging process, escalating complex problems to maintenance or supervisory staff.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, output, and quality control data.
- Collaborate effectively with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets and continuous improvement.
- Assist in equipment changeovers and line setup, ensuring efficient transitions between different product runs.
- Identify and recommend improvements to packaging processes and equipment for enhanced efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Packaging Technician or a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food/beverage.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience with automated packaging systems and PLC controls.
- Forklift operator certification.
- Previous experience in a Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
