Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Inventory Specialist to join the PepsiCo team in Windsor, Ontario, for an immediate start. This critical full-time role is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our supply chain, ensuring that our products are accurately tracked and managed from receipt to dispatch. As an Inventory Specialist, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control within our Windsor distribution center. Your expertise will directly contribute to operational excellence by minimizing discrepancies, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand. You will conduct precise cycle counts, investigate variances, and implement corrective measures, all while leveraging cutting-edge warehouse management systems. Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and reconcile any discrepancies found.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overstocking or stockouts.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Process inbound receipts and outbound shipments accurately within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate closely with warehouse operations, production planning, and logistics teams to ensure seamless product flow.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports, providing insights and recommendations for operational improvements.
- Ensure strict adherence to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) principles for product rotation.
- Assist in the organization and layout of warehouse storage to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
- Support year-end physical inventory counts and related audits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety policies.
Required Skills
- 1-2 years of proven experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Current forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Familiarity with inventory best practices within the food and beverage industry.
- Experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
