Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst to join our team in Calabar immediately. As a Paystack Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions and optimize our payment platform. You will be responsible for exploring complex datasets, identifying trends, building reports, and creating visualizations that help various departments, including product, engineering, sales, and marketing, understand performance and identify areas for improvement. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct root cause analysis, and provide recommendations that directly impact our services and user experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to payment transactions, user behavior, and business performance.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to understand data requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives, troubleshoot issues, and answer specific business questions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and alert relevant teams to significant changes or anomalies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data analytics processes and infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in the fintech or tech industry.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Demonstrable experience with at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Expertise in using business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to create dashboards and reports.
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and data modeling techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and experimental design.
  • Prior experience with payments data or financial services data.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
