Job Description
Are you a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks? Paystack is seeking a dedicated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team in Calabar. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures in line with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., CBN, NDPR, AML/CFT).
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches and vulnerabilities, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor daily transactions and business operations to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal compliance frameworks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and auditors during compliance examinations and inquiries.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports, including suspicious activity reports (SARs) and other mandated disclosures.
- Provide ongoing compliance training and guidance to employees across various departments, fostering a strong culture of compliance.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, complaints, and potential violations, documenting findings and actions taken.
- Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements impacting compliance.
- Collaborate with legal, risk management, and product teams to integrate compliance requirements into new products and services.
- Advise senior management on compliance matters and the potential impact of regulatory changes on business operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer, preferably within the FinTech or financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, including CBN guidelines, AML/CFT laws, and data protection (NDPR).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex compliance issues clearly.
- Ability to interpret and apply legal and regulatory frameworks to business operations.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and sound judgment.
- Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, CCEP).
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions.
