As a Patient Transport Driver, you will be the face of MTM, playing a crucial role in ensuring that individuals with varying medical needs get to and from their scheduled appointments, including doctor’s visits, therapy sessions, and dialysis treatments. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles (sedans, vans, or accessible vehicles) to transport members to and from medical appointments and other designated locations.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Assist members with entering and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility challenges or using wheelchairs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and provide compassionate customer service to all passengers.
  • Ensure timely arrival at pick-up and drop-off locations, managing routes efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the company vehicle.
  • Accurately complete all necessary trip logs, vehicle checklists, and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and members regarding schedules, delays, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Attend all mandatory training sessions and safety meetings.

Required Skills

  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License with a clean driving record for at least three consecutive years.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Nashville and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to operate GPS devices and navigation systems efficiently.
  • Physical ability to assist members, including lifting and securing wheelchairs (up to 50 lbs unassisted, more with assistance).
  • Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in patient transport, paratransit, or a similar customer service driving role.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities or specific medical needs.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
