World Vision International is seeking a dynamic and strategic Partnerships Officer – External Relations to join our dedicated team in Beni, North Kivu Province, DRC. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in forging and nurturing strong alliances with a diverse range of stakeholders, including institutional donors, government bodies, UN agencies, peer NGOs, and local community leaders. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with World Vision DRC's national strategy and regional priorities, particularly for Beni operations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with existing and prospective institutional donors (e.g., USAID, ECHO, FCDO, UN agencies), corporate partners, and foundations.
  • Actively identify, research, and track new funding opportunities and calls for proposals that align with World Vision’s program sectors (health, nutrition, WASH, education, child protection, livelihoods).
  • Support the program development team in preparing high-quality, compelling, and compliant proposals, concept notes, and grant applications.
  • Represent World Vision at key external forums, donor meetings, inter-agency coordination platforms, and government consultations in Beni and across North Kivu Province.
  • Facilitate effective communication and information sharing between World Vision teams and external partners, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Monitor the external context and donor landscape, providing regular updates and analysis on trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact World Vision's operations.
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials and reports that effectively showcase World Vision's impact and partnership value to external audiences.
  • Ensure strict adherence to donor compliance requirements and internal World Vision policies throughout the partnership lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in partnership development, external relations, resource mobilization, or a related field, preferably within an NGO or international development context.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French. Proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, government officials, UN agencies, and local communities.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in supporting the development of successful proposals and grant applications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and resilience, especially in complex humanitarian settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Humanitarian Action, Business Administration).
  • Direct experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly in North Kivu Province or similar challenging contexts.
  • Familiarity with the funding mechanisms and priorities of major institutional donors (e.g., USAID, ECHO, FCDO, Global Fund).
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems or donor database management.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding principles in humanitarian and development work.
