Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently unload incoming packages from trailers and containers, adhering to safety guidelines and company procedures.
  • Sort packages manually or using automated systems according to destination codes and delivery routes.
  • Load outbound packages onto delivery vehicles and trailers with care and precision, ensuring proper weight distribution.
  • Scan package labels accurately to ensure correct tracking and record-keeping through internal systems.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area at all times.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently after appropriate training and certification.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.
  • Lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs (approximately 32 kg) independently, and heavier packages with assistance.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding operational issues, concerns, or improvements.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) repeatedly and safely.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately read and sort packages based on codes.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels, understanding instructions, and basic counting.
  • Good team player with effective verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and potentially weekends, as required by operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pump trucks or forklifts (certification not required but beneficial).
