Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors, and external departments, handling inquiries with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including scheduling appointments and arranging transport.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff (doctors, nurses) to relay essential information and support their administrative needs.
- Order and manage ward supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient inventory control.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, telephone calls, and emails, prioritising urgent matters.
- Prepare and update patient charts, bed status reports, and other unit-specific documentation.
- Assist with the upkeep of the unit environment, ensuring a tidy and organised administrative area.
- Support the implementation of unit policies and procedures.
- Utilise hospital IT systems for data entry, record retrieval, and communication.
Required Skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
