Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures.
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and risk assessments.
- Expose, develop, and interpret dental radiographs.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and the importance of preventative care.
- Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventative agents.
- Document patient care, treatment plans, and oral health status accurately and completely.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures.
- Collaborate with dentists and other dental professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide clear and concise post-operative instructions and address patient concerns.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a comfortable, supportive environment.
Required Skills
- Active Hawaii Dental Hygienist license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in dental software and digital radiography.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- 2+ years of experience as a practicing Dental Hygienist.
- Local anesthesia permit (preferred, but not required to start).
