Are you an experienced Cloud Engineer looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity to leverage your expertise in a remote setting? Daisy Communications is seeking a talented and motivated Part-Time Cloud Engineer to join our innovative team, based remotely from Blackpool, England. This is an exciting chance to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our robust cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for our diverse client base.
In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our cloud-native applications and services, working primarily with AWS, Azure, or GCP environments. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your skills in automation, infrastructure-as-code, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to optimize our cloud operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure primarily within AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate provisioning and configuration.
- Monitor cloud environments, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and infrastructure changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
- Ensure robust security practices are applied to all cloud resources, adhering to compliance standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services and provide expert guidance on cloud-native solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required (pro-rata, if applicable) to support critical infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong understanding and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPC/VNet, subnets, firewalls, routing).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate).
- Experience with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
