Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive legal research, analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, and public records to support legal proceedings and advisory services.
- Drafting, reviewing, and organizing a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, agreements, corporate resolutions, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Managing and maintaining extensive physical and electronic case files, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and strict confidentiality of all client information.
- Assisting lawyers in preparing thoroughly for court hearings, client meetings, complex transactions, and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and various third parties to schedule meetings, obtain necessary information, and facilitate efficient document exchange.
- Performing essential administrative tasks such as managing calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing detailed expense reports, and handling general office correspondence.
- Utilizing advanced legal software and databases for efficient case management, document management, and in-depth research.
- Ensuring strict compliance with firm policies, ethical guidelines, and unparalleled client service standards at all times.
- Providing critical support in due diligence processes for corporate transactions, project finance initiatives, and other advisory engagements.
- Assisting with the meticulous preparation and filing of intellectual property applications, renewals, and related documentation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, preferably within a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian legal principles, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional organizational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
- Proficiency in advanced legal research tools and databases (e.g., LexisNexis, LawPavilion, Nigerian Case Law).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload efficiently, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Paralegal certification or diploma from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Prior experience in corporate/commercial law, litigation, intellectual property, or energy law.
