Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Court Preparation & Research to join our dynamic legal team in Dingle, Liverpool. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support to our solicitors in the litigation process, ensuring cases are meticulously prepared for court proceedings. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using various databases and resources to support case strategies.
- Assist solicitors in preparing for court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, including compiling bundles and witness statements.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, briefs, and correspondence.
- Manage and organize physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible.
- Liaise with clients, barristers, court staff, and other external parties as required.
- Summarize complex legal documents, depositions, and transcripts for review by solicitors.
- Assist with discovery processes, including preparing interrogatories and requests for production of documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 18 months of experience as a Paralegal, preferably with exposure to litigation or court processes.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field, or successful completion of a Paralegal training course (e.g., CILEX).
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Proclaim, Clio, LexisNexis Practice Management).
- Familiarity with specific areas of law relevant to our practice (e.g., Civil Litigation, Family Law, Criminal Law).
- LPC (Legal Practice Course) completion or current enrollment.
