As a Painter with Schaefer Decorating Co., you will be an integral part of our project teams, responsible for transforming spaces with precision and artistry. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, and cleaning.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired shades and textures.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other necessary equipment safely.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and masking tape.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and address any imperfections.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on job sites.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a painter with a strong portfolio of work.
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques (scraping, sanding, caulking, patching).
- Expertise in applying various types of paint and finishes.
- Familiarity with different painting tools and equipment (brushes, rollers, sprayers).
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and blueprints.
- Strong color matching abilities and an eye for detail.
- Excellent physical stamina and dexterity.
- Commitment to safety practices and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or industrial painting.
- Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and sealers and their appropriate applications.
- Certification in safety training (e.g., OSHA 10/30).
