Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and retrieve items from warehouse locations according to order sheets or scanner instructions.
- Verify the accuracy of picked items against order specifications, including quantity and product code.
- Safely operate various warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and possibly forklifts (with proper certification), to move materials.
- Package orders securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing inventory in designated warehouse areas.
- Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and order fulfillment.
- Identify and report any damaged products or equipment malfunctions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic math skills for counting and inventory verification.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or order picking role.
- Experience with RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Forklift certification or previous experience operating a forklift.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices.
