Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalized online tutoring sessions in core academic subjects such as Math, Reading, Writing, and Study Skills.
- Utilize Sylvan's proprietary online learning platform and resources effectively to facilitate student learning.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles and needs.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students and, when appropriate, parents/guardians regarding student performance and academic goals.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and session notes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and platform proficiency.
- Ensure a positive, encouraging, and productive virtual learning environment, fostering student engagement and motivation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one core academic subject (e.g., Math, Reading, Writing, Science).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with online learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and virtual communication.
- Ability to engage and motivate students effectively in a remote setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a subject-specific field (e.g., Mathematics, English, Sciences).
